Hello everyone and welcome back to this episode of “Different Day, Same Thing”. There isn’t much new going on this week, just a lot of planning, packing and getting things ready for the new guys. If you missed it, a few days ago I posted the October edition of the news letter that featured an interview of one of TF Charger Soldiers. That can be found just below this posting.
I have already begun mailing a few things home and all of my boxes going back on the boat are packed and loaded up as well. The room seems to be emptying out which is a good sign of getting out of here, although there still appears to be a lot of stuff still in here at the moment and most of that will be left behind. I ended up signing up for classes all the way up until I leave to help keep me busy if things should slow down too much and I am currently in Astronomy (still), Web Development and Intro to Programming. I know what everyone is thinking, “those classes sounds exciting” and you would be right. I can hardly hold back the excitement. The programming class isn’t what I thought it would be because we aren’t learning any programming. We are learning the concepts of programming and the behind the scenes to what goes on before you actually write the program. But I think I will still enjoy it, anytime I can learn something new I enjoy it.
I have a date that I am supposed to fly but I cannot give it out do to security reasons, but I can say that I will be celebrating the holidays in the wintry wonderland of Bagram Afghanistan but I will be celebrating MLK (Martin Luther King) day back in the states. Once I am actually out of here, I will make sure everyone knows I left. We are seeing some people leave already, they will be the ones that go back and get everything ready for us to return and we should start seeing new people in soon as well. That will be nice, new people wandering around like I did just about 11 months ago.
Anyways, I am looking forward to getting back to the good old USA. Funny, in the last 5 years, I have spent just 8 months in the US.
Talk to you all next week.
