Happy Halloween

Now I know Halloween is not until the end of the week,  but since I update this on Sundays (usually) then by the time I write again it will be passed Halloween. I am getting ready to pack up another box to be shipped out of here and after that box is done I won’t have much left in my room, which is fine and dandy because by the end of November I will probably be moved out my room anyways. We will have to move out in order to make room for the people coming in and we will go live in tents or maybe another b-hut if I can find some space somewhere Still not solid dates yet but I know it will be after the winter holidays and hopefulle before the middle of January. We should start finding out more as time goes on.

Ask and you shall receive. I asked for Fruity Pebbles and my mom and dad sent me two boxes and Aunt Ellie sent me two. I shared them with the others but I still have 2 boxes left, which I will probably save for my Sunday breakfast as a treat. I also got some sponge candy from them as well, and I shared that too. Nobody here has had it before, such a shame. I do believe that Olivers makes some good sponge candy but Paula and I decided that the stuff we made before I deployed was just as good or better. Of course, we used Dove chocolate to cover it with and that may have been cheating.

The weather has been pleasant the past few weeks. Not too hot and only really cooling off at night. I don’t think I have ever seen so many clear days anywhere else I have been. I would be willing to bet that I can count the number of cloudy days we have had since May on one hand, maybe one and a half. I have my window open today to let some fresh air in and it is very nice. I am sure the weather will start to get pretty rough in the next few weeks but I do remember when I got here last December it was still ok. The weather didn’t really get bad until January and February.

I am looking forward to getting home but there are still quite a few days and a lot of things that need to be done before I leave. But I am hoping that the days go by fast and everything we need to do gets done quickly and safe. I received a notification from the reassignment people on Fort Campbell that I am on assignment to Seattle, so that is pretty much a done deal. I think we made the right decision and I hope we enjoy our time out on the west coast. It delays our retirement plans but the extra time will allow me to finish my Bachelors degree and every year after 20 will make my retirement pay go up a little.

I will be seeing you all soon, I hope everyone is well.
