Well, we left Giebelstadt at about 6 am and got to the airport at about 7:30. We got the animals and luggage checked in at about 9:00 or 9:30 and then we waited until about 11:00 to get on the plane. This is where the rest of the day went down the toilet. We got out to the runway and about half way into take-off, the pilot aborted. We were told that they had a warning light come on. We went back to a parking space and the mechanics came out and looked at it, said it was fixed and we went back out again. About half way into take-off and guess what, abort. This time we spent about 3 hours on the ramp while the mechanics fixed the problem. So our 11:00 flight finally got off the ground at about 3:00. Needless to say, we missed our connection and our dogs have been in kennels since about 9:30. We finally landed in Washington at about 4 or 5 depending on whose clock you went by. We got the dogs and got them walked and they booked us on a flight that left at 9:40 (which means 10:30 in United Air time). We sat in the airport for a few hours and finally got off the ground at 10:30 and landed in Nashville at about 10:45 (one hour difference). But guess what, theres more. Our rental car was reserved with Enterprise, which just happen to close at 10:00 and when I tried calling them from Washington, all I got was a busy signal. We ended up getting a rental car with another company for about double the cost. About 45 minutes later, we were at our hotel all safe and sound but very very tired. We are off to bed and I don’t plan on getting up anytime soon.
Not much to do tomorrow but get some rest.
