Another week down and it seemed to go by pretty quick. The Soldiers at work surprised me with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for my birthday which was nice. We are a relatively small group and we all seem to get along rather well and that makes the deployment a little easier to handle.
I am studying up for my final exam in speech; I will be taking it tomorrow morning. As I have mentioned quite a bit now, this is my last class I need for my Associates degree in Information Technology. I won’t receive my diploma until December because they only do them every 3 months and I missed the cutoff for September, which is all fine and well since I know I will be getting it. I have already finished my first class towards my Bachelors and have pretty much finished the second as well, 5 weeks early. I still have to take a mid-term and final for it but the class work itself is done. I will start one more class the first part of August; I decided to take one of my required sciences and selected Introduction to Astronomy. I choose this because it sounded interesting but mostly because Courtney has a telescope likes the stars and this may help me teach her a little bit about them.
I guess there was an article in the Clarksville paper and the headline read “101 CAB to return early”. After reading it, it all sounded pretty official but I don’t think I or anyone else here are getting our hopes up just yet. We all know that things can change overnight in the Army so we will wait and see, and hope.
I think today actually marks the first day of our 8th month here. It doesn’t seem too bad but you sure do miss a lot in a year. I guess the new iPhone came out, Mary will turn 7 in November, Courtney turned 8 in April and summer has already come and gone. I look forward to getting back and I will try very hard not to miss much else.
Take care everyone and talk to you next week.
