Back in Bagram

I made it back to Bagram at about 2am Bagram time early Saturday morning. It was a long and drawn out trip because we got held over in Atlanta overnight with a broken airplane. We only spent about an hour or so in Shannon Ireland and one night and most of the next day in Kuwait. Lots of flying and bus rides but I made it back.

We sure had a good time while I was on leave. My parents came down for a few days and helped me get my pool put up and cleaned out. It was a mess and it was sitting out all winter. That got some use from the kids for the first few days and once it warmed up, we all used it.

We also spent the day at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, went to the Nashville Zoo and saw about 6 movies in the theater. We Porters love to go to the movies and we took the opportinity to catch up on some movie time. We saw Chronicles of Narnia, Speed Racer, Iron Man, Indianna Jones, Kung Fu Panda and Paula and I went to see Baby Mama. They were all pretty good and we had a good time.

Most of the rest of the time was spent around the house mowing the lawn and doing small little odd jobs that I wanted to get done. It was a short time but I think we made the most of it.

As I am writing this, it’s about 1 am here on Sunday morning. I am a bit jet lagged and can’t seem to fall asleep. I am going to go try once more.

Talk to you later.
