Well, the truck ended up not only being too small for everything, but it is also too heavy with what we had in it. So, we put a hitch on the car and rented z Uhaul trailer to lighten the load a bit so we wouldn’t get fined for being overweight. All of this ended up taking an extra day or so and in turn, we will ne changing our travel plans. We will not be stoping to see Mt Rushmore this time around, it just doesn’t fit the trip anymore. It will be too busy over the holiday weekend and I don’t think we will be in much if a mood when we got there. Instead, we will drive to Wall, SD and spend the night and then go to Butte, MT for our second night. If the drive doesn’t wear us out, we should be in Seattle by Sunday evening. I will try to keep this updated as we go.
To think, I thought the deployments were the adventures the Army always talked about, when in fact it is the moving.
